HEALTH BENEFITS

The vegetables used in Honey Pig’s typical cuisine contribute to the overal nutritional value. Kimchi and other accompanying dishes are rich in vitimin A, thiamine (B1), riboflavin (B2), calcium, and iron. Health magazine named Kimchi in its list of top five “World’s Healthiest Foods” for being rich in vitamins, aiding digestion, and even possibly reducing cancer growth. Honey Pig hand makes its own Kimchi and is served fresh. There are several other nutritional benefits to Korean food in general because of its high use of fresh vegetables and herbs.. In Honey Pig’s Doen Jang Jjigae, there are linoleic acids and linolenic acids which have an important role in normal growth of blood vessels and prevention of blood vessel-related illness. Unlike miso, which is usually not boiled, Doen Jang’s efficacy still exists after boiling..

EFFECTIVENESS OF

KIMCHI

  1. kimchi has the ability to lower cholesterollevels when eaten on a daily basis.
  2. The cabbage, which is the main ingredient in kimchi, will also help your body get rid of waste, and stabalize your bowel movements.
  3. The fermentation process to make kimchi also contributes to the delicious taste and creates a rich source of probiotics. Probiotics are the healthy bacteria your body needs to maintain a balanced state of bacteria in your colon.
  4. Lactobacillus in kimchi can help control your appetite by lowering blood sugar levels. The fiber content in kimchi may also help you feel less hungry so you are not as likely to over-eat during the day.
  5. Most of the ingredients used to make kimchi such as ginger, pepper, and garlic have all been known to support the immune system and are believed to have the ability to stop or shorten cold and flu symptoms.
  6. Eating kimchi regularly may also help reduce your chances of developing certain cancers, such as stomach cancer. It is the cabbage used to make kimchi that gives it powerful antioxidants and flavonoids known to help prevent cancer. Along with the antioxidants and flavonoids it possesses, cabbage is also a rich source of glucosinolates. Glucosinolates when digested convert into a compound known as isothiocyanate, which is an effective anti-cancer phytochemical found in many cruciferous vegetables.

WHAT IS

HONEY PIG PORK?

"Black hog" pork comes from the famed Berkshire pig. This is one meat where it makes a real difference. Ever had a leathery, dry pork chop or tenderloin you simply didn't have enought saliva to swallow? Conventional farm-raised pigs tend to lack incredibly tasty fat that heritage breeds have maintained, and which keeps their meat juicy, tender and yes, expensive.
